Alison meets family

Little Miss Alison Joy David, of Roanoke, made her very first appearance for the first time in her life in Mound to meet all the rest of her Hopson families and many cousins at the home of her great-aunt, Barbara Sue Hopson. Alison is the baby daughter of Zach and McKenzie David.

McKenzie and her daughter, Alison Joy David, spent a few days in Mound with Frank and Susie Hopson.

Scott Stephens, who attends Texas Tech University in Lubbock, spent a few days with his grandparents, Ray and John Stephens.

Mound Ladies Bible Study group are meeting at White Mound Baptist Church Youth Building every Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. The group is currently studying in the book of Acts, Chapter 8. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy their fellowship.

Eric and Liz McCorkle hosted a spring pool party on Sunday, April 7, for the family of Kevin and Teri Miller of Woodland Park, CO, and their children, Nekoda Scott, Canyon Joshua, Ian Nathanel, Caleb Daniel, Caleb Miller, Autumn Grace, Eliza Joy, Serene Eliana, and Eliza Miller.

Tammy Roe, of Nemo, spent the day Sunday visiting with her mother, Mrs. Beth Haines in Gatesville and with David and Pam Hopson and family in Mound.

Several people of Mound attended the 2024 Sunday Eclipse Festival on the square in Gatesville with live worship, testimonies, salvations, a prayer tent, healings, and baptisms.

The Eakin Family Reunion was held at the home of Don and Sue Jones Saturday through Wednesday. There were around 60 people in attendance. They had a lot of fun playing games, eating, enjoying time spent together, planting trees in memory of loved ones who passed, and watching the eclipse. They came from Oregon, Arizona, Washington, Maryland, and Texas.

Neil and Christly Helms, of Red Oak, spent the weekend at the home of Robert and Carolyn Blakley.

Thomas Belt helped emcee the County 4-H Talent Showcase on Monday, April 1. Thomas, along with Kinsley and Allie McPherson, presented their 4-H Educational Presentations on Thursday, the 4th at our county level with 35 kids from all over the county who competed. 

They are all doing a great job leading and competing in 4-H. Kinsley and Allie both competed Saturday at the District 8, 4-H Horse Judging Contest. Kinsley’s team placed third and qualified for State.
