An 18-wheeler flipped on its side at the intersection of State Highway 36 and Business 36 after traveling on foggy roads Friday morning.

Gatesville police, EMS teams, and firefighters responded to the crash around 7:26 a.m. at the 2800 block of South State Highway 36. Police Chief Brad Hunt said the driver of the 18-wheeler had minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.

Hunt said an initial investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling south in dense fog before it lost control and swerved sharply to the right near the intersection. It then drove through the right turn lane before turning on its side and sliding onto the shoulder.

Traffic was re-routed while the 18-wheeler was recovered. All roadways near the scene are now open for travel.
