Lady Hornets softball dominates China Spring

The Lady Hornets varsity softball team played against China Spring at home on Tuesday, April 2, where they won 12-1.

Madison Hester was dominant in the circle, as they rang up 11 strikeouts in Lady Hornets’ 12-1 victory over China Spring earlier this week. Hester allowed two hits and one run over five innings while walking none.

The Lady Hornets won after seven runs in the second inning. An error scored one run; Kallie Featherston singled, scoring one run; Grace Carothers grounded out, scoring one run; Kinlee Garnder singled, scoring one run; Raylee Glover homered to center field, scoring two runs; and Megan Mehaffey scored after tagging up.

Another run was added in the third after Gardner lined out.

Brilee Ford hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the fourth for the Lady Hornets.

Together, the Lady Hornets completed 14 hits in the game. Mehaffey led the team with three hits in four at bats. Ford and Featherston each collected multiple hits for the team.

Glover made the most plays with 11.

The Lady Hornets softball team will travel to China Spring for their next game on Friday, April 5. The game will commence at 7 p.m.
