The meets included the Moody Invitational where she won first place with an 820-pound total, the China Spring Invitational where she won first place with an 850-pound total, the McGregor Invitational where she won first place with an 840-pound total, and the West Invitational where she won first place with an 830-pound total.

At the regional championships in Dublin, she won second place. Her stats included 345 pounds on squat, 190 pounds on the bench press, and 345 pounds on deadlift with a total of 880 pounds.

At the state championships in Frisco, she won sixth place. Her stats included 355 pounds on squat, 200 pounds on the bench press, and 335 pounds on deadlift with a total of 890 pounds.

“Shaylie will return next year and has a chance to do even better than she did this year,” GHS Powerlifting Coach Jason Moffett said.

Davidson is in the 220-pound weight class and finished five invitational meets, as well as the regional meet and the state meet this year. There were 70 girls who posted totals in her weight class in 4A D2 schools from around the state this season.

The meets included the Moody Invitational where she won second place with an 850-pound total, the Gatesville Invitational where she won first place with an 890-pound total, the China Spring Invitational where she won first place with an 875-pound total, the McGregor Invitational where she won first place with an 895-pound total, and the West Invitational where she won first place with a 915-pound total.

At the regional championships in Dublin, she won first place. Her stats included 355 pounds on squat, 285 pounds on the bench press, and 290 pounds on deadlift with a 930-pound total.

“Emma set a new regional record for bench press at this meet,” Moffett said. “The old record was 255 Pounds, set by Kadee Sexton, also of Gatesville High School, in 2015.”

At the state championships in Frisco, she won fourth place. Her stats included 355 pounds on squat, 275 pounds on the bench press, and 285 pounds on deadlift with a 915-pound total.

“Emma will also return for another season next year, with a very good chance to exceed her accomplishments from this year,” Moffett said.
