Gatesville volleyball looks to bounce back at Connally

After dropping a pair of games to open district play, the Gatesville volleyball team looked to bounce back on Friday against Connally.

 

The Lady Hornets fell in three sets at Robinson to open district play on Sept. 22 then lost to China Spring at home on Sept. 26. They travel to Connally on Sept. 29 looking to get back in the win column. The Lady Cadets are also 0-2 in district play after losing to China Spring and state-ranked Salado.

Gatesville fell 21-25, 11-25, 23-25 at Robinson and lost 16-25, 11-25, 19-25 against China Spring. The losses drop the Lady Hornets to 14-15 on the season.

Through two games of league play, Salado, Robinson, and China Spring are all 2-0 while Gatesville, Connally, and La Vega are 0-2.

After their trip to Connally, Gatesville will host Salado on Oct. 3 then travel to La Vega to wrap the first half of district play on Oct. 6. Salado is 26-9 overall and ranked No. 18 in the latest TGCA polls.

In 2022, the Lady Hornets started district play 1-3 before winning seven of their last eight games.
