The Gatesville High School Dazzlers dance team will hold tryouts on Friday, March 10. Tryouts are open to incoming freshmen through seniors and are held each year for the upcoming school year.
The dance team performs at all varsity football games in the fall. In the spring, the team performs at select basketball games and travels to area dance competitions.
All candidates should have dancing abilities, poise, flexibility, presentation skills, a positive attitude, the ability to follow high standard of conduct, a positive work ethic, and positive grades with a good rapport with teachers.
Candidates must be passing all classes for the third quarter and should not have failed more than one class in any of the prior grading periods this year. As per the local athletic policy, if a student has quit or been dismissed from any athletic organization (cheer, Dazzlers, or athletics) during the current school year, the student will not be eligible to try-out for the next year’s team. In order to try out or maintain a position, in good standing, on the team, a student must be in compliance with school attendance policies, should have no more than one ISS assignment, or office referral resulting in corporal punishment during the current school year and the candidate should not have spent any time in AEP.
