Christopher Rhudy, age 38, of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will follow the services at Restland Cemetery. For those unable to attend, Christopher’s funeral services will be livestreamed at the link below his obituary at www.scottsfh.com.
Christopher was born on June 26, 1984, in Gatesville. He grew up in Gatesville, graduating from Gatesville High School in 2002. While in high school, he was active in the Boy Scouts and achieved Eagle Scout status in 2002. He enjoyed music, playing bass guitar and was in the high school band, where he played the sousaphone. He earned an associate degree in Liberal Arts from McLennan Community College and a degree in computer networking from ITT. He excelled in computer networking, web design and anything that involved computers. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of seven and was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church. Christopher’s devotion in life was the Gatesville Care Center and that mission became his Eagle Scout project.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Pat Rhudy, Doris Winters, J.D. Waters, Tommy Winters; uncle, David Carver; and an aunt, Terri McElhenney.
Christopher is survived by his parents, David and Barbara Rhudy; grandfather, Bob Rhudy; aunts and uncles, Patricia and Terry Aslin, Gena and Duane Sexton, Rebecca and Tim Hunter, Thomas and Janet Winters, Diane and Andy Asberry, Karen and Rick Moore, Eric Riza, Cynthia Riza, Jerre and David Ambrose.
In lieu of flowers, the family has designated that memorials be made to the Gatesville Care Center, 105 N. 7th Street, Gatesville, TX 76528.
