County Commissioners continue budget workshops

The Coryell County Commissioners had various discussions regarding the upcoming Fiscal Year (FY) budget during their Tuesday, Aug. 11, meeting. This follows the budget discussions the commissioners had with various county departments from July 22 to July 30.

Coryell County 4-H Horse Judging held in Oklahoma Several children from Mound attended and enjoyed Popsicles with the Principals on Thursday at the Outdoor Learning Center at the Gatesville Elementary School. The annual Back to School Bash was held on Saturday August 8.

A number of Coryell City folks attended a birthday party honoring 95-year-ol Floy (Puggie) Neimeier Sparkman at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Coryell County’s first ever Wiener Dog Race held at McKamie Stadium. The race was to benefit the Coryell County Chapter of The American Cancer Society.

Fall sports update

After two quick starts, GHS cross country will compete in a loaded field at the Belton ISD Invitational on Friday of next week. The Hornets will get to run against some stiff competition and also cover a course that features plenty of slopes and incline.
