Ruth Evelyn (Wilson) McGaugh passed away on March 31, 2024 in Gatesville.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, at Scott’s Funeral Home with Tim Hunter officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Ruth McGaugh was born on July 26, 1936, in Hobart, Oklahoma to Ernest James Wilson and Maudie Pearl (Stubbs) Wilson. Ruth married Roy Lee McGaugh on May 21, 1954 in Valley View. Roy preceded her in death on March 12, 2019.
Ruth enjoyed playing basketball in her youth. She also enjoyed wildflowers, road trips, and old-time country music. Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ruth will be remembered for being loving, kind, generous, friendly, hard-working, helpful, and hospitable. Ruth was a member of Gatesville Church of Christ. She had a deep knowledge of the scriptures and was a lover of God, Christ, and the church.
Ruth is survived by her children, Rhonna (Sissy) Carter of Izoro; Steve McGaugh and wife, Linda, of Izoro; Tim McGaugh and wife, Jana, of Sanger; Roy McGaugh and wife, Sara, of Izoro; Joy McGaugh Puente of Fairhope, Alabama; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Ruth requested donations be made to the Sunset International Bible Institute, 3723 34th Street, Lubbock, TX 79410-2895.
