Rayven Jones, age 26, of Gatesville, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at Coryell Community Church with Dr. Eric Moffet officiating. Interment followed at the family’s private land.

Rayven Donte Jones was born on Jan. 26, 1998, in Temple. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 2016, where he excelled in football and track. He married Martica Sanford on April 13, 2019, and together they had two children, Peyton and Leo. Rayven attended O.G.’s Barber School in Killeen. He opened R.J.’s Barber Shop in Gatesville in 2020 and was voted “Best Barber” by the Gatesville Chamber of Commerce for two consecutive years. Rayven was baptized in 2007 at The House That God Built Church. He and his family are currently proud members of Coryell Community Church. Rayven was a devoted husband and father. His hobbies included fishing, cooking, and traveling with his family. He expressed his love for others through barbering and was passionate about showing up for anyone.

Rayven is survived by his wife, Martica Jones; children, Peyton and Leo Jones; mother, Amanda Paro and husband Lucas; father, Ray Jones II and wife, Olivia; siblings, Andraque Jones and fiancé, Robin Galiano, Allaira Jones, Allaiya Jones, Tookie Jones, Araiya Jones, Amaiya Jones, and Adonai Jones; grandparents, Kelly and Eloy Mainez, Jeri Jones, and Ray Jones, Sr.; and a niece, Zayla Jones. Rayven also leaves behind his two dogs that he cherished, Deuce and Avah.
