Please keep the Ronald Medart Family in your prayers. They lost their daughter, Regina, on February 12. A memorial service will be at the Pearl Community Fellowship Church in the near future.

The next big event in Pearl is the upcoming Solar Eclipse and Pearl Bluegrass weekend, April 5, 6, and 7. To sign up for RV space, go to www.eventbrite.com/o/pearl-texas-community-center. You can see how much they cost and what is available there. Also, on that Saturday the Pearl Bookstore will be open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. It will be a huge weekend in Pearl, so make your plans now.

To benefit the Pearl Church of Christ Scholarship Fund, a beautiful maple coffee table (54x24x15) and a beautiful maple round dining table with a leaf (46” wide with leaf and 18” wide without the leaf), plus four chairs will be sold. The table is $200, and the coffee table is $75. All are in excellent condition. You can contact Linda Ray at 254-865-9282 for more information. The scholarships go to local seniors, and this is a very worthy cause! You can check out the pictures of the table and chairs on the church’s Facebook page—Pearl Church of Christ.

The Pearl Country Church (Pearl Baptist Church) will host an Easter morning service at the Pearl Cemetery Pavilion on March 31, beginning at 7 a.m. Breakfast will be served at the church’s fellowship hall following the service.

The Pearl Community Fellowship will have an Easter service beginning at 9 a.m.

The Pearl Church of Christ will have an Easter service beginning at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch and an Easter egg hunt for the kids.

Upcoming speakers at the Pearl Church of Christ: Edward Schaub will be speaking on Easter morning at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Charles Patterson, retired Superintendent of the Killeen ISD and currently ministering and living in Corsicana, will be speaking on April 7, also at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Patterson is a native of Hamilton.

Everyone is always invited to any of these Pearl churches and services. Bringing guests is happily encouraged, too.

Now, an update on the life and times of Kay Pruett: A visitor to Raby Park struck up a conversation with Kay while she was working in her yard that joins Raby Park. The lady told Kay that she loves coming to the park because it is so peaceful, and something is always happening. The lady said she recently heard a voice reading, and she looked up and saw an elderly man on Kay’s patio who was reading the Bible. The lady added, “That must have been your husband.” Kay laughed and said, “I am a widow. That elderly man was me reading to my dog, Pearl.” The lady was embarrassed, but it didn’t bother Kay at all. Kay said, “It’s hard to insult an old lady!” (Thank you, Kay, for sharing this story and helping me with current events for the news this week! You can’t wish to rush me to my demise over this one because it came from you. Plus, I can’t wait to visit and hear your beautiful baritone voice in the future).

This week’s Bible verse comes from John 3:16—For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. KJV
