Pearl News

The Pearl Book Cottage reported that they had a wonderful day last week during the monthly Bluegrass/Bookstore Day. Everyone was especially delighted with the much cooler weather. It seems that almost everyone received some beneficial rain amounts during the couple of days prior to the event. Keep praying—they’re heard and answered!

The next Pearl Bluegrass and Pearl Cottage Bookstore event will be Nov. 4. Everyone is always invited.

The Pearl Church of Christ will have their 128th Homecoming and Reunion on Oct. 15th. Remember, church begins at 10:30 a.m., and dinner on the grounds will follow. Plaques will be given to the youngest attending, oldest attending, longest attending member, couple married the longest, and for the person who traveled the longest distance. Drive your vintage cars if you have one and join the fellowship, fun, and good preaching in Pearl. Everyone is invited.

The next Pearl Cemetery workday is set for Saturday, Oct. 14, 9 a.m., weather permitting. If the weather does not cooperate, it will be rescheduled for Oct. 21.

Here in the Piney Woods, my clan has weathered rounds of virus/flu episodes, including yours truly. I seem to be a less creative writer when I don’t feel up to snuff, but, hopefully, that will be short-lived. I know I owe everyone a turquoise greeny bikini update, and I hope to provide the gossip I’ve heard concerning the terrible two piece soon. We hope and pray everyone back home in the Pearl area takes their Vitamin C and stays well.

This week’s Bible verse comes from Proverbs 4:20-22--My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.  NIV

Please pray for rain, our country, Israel, and our schools!
