Pearl News

Posted

Thank you to all who participated in the Pearl Community Thanksgiving Lunch on Nov. 13! There were about 90 in attendance, and all report of the wonderful food and fellowship they experienced that day.

It takes a village to make events like this a success!!

The Pearl Cottage Bookstore has been gifted with an extensive collection of Robert Redford memorabilia. Included are autographed pictures, stories of his many movies, The Red Book fan club book collection from various and many years, a scrapbook of The Horse Whisperer, and many more items in pristine condition. If you are interested in purchasing any or all of these items, please call Linda Ray at 254-865-9282 for more information. All proceeds from the sale of this collection will benefit the bookstore’s charities.

It seems to be the season of breakable parts in Pearl as Sally Freeman and Linda Ray have both suffered breaks in the last few weeks. Nothing seems to stop these spunky ladies, though! You just can’t keep good women down! Please keep them in your prayers for speedy healing. And please, everyone else be careful! We don’t need any more broken bones in Pearl!

The next Pearl Bluegrass event and The Pearl Cottage Bookstore Day will be Dec. 3. However, you can come as early as Friday to the Community Center when jamming begins around 5 p.m. On Saturday, open mic and beginners jam begin at 10 a.m. The kitchen opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. Jamming in the various rooms and under the pavilion happens all day Saturday, too! Participate in or listen to classic country, gospel, folk, and bluegrass music! The Book Cottage is open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Don’t forget about the Junk in Your Trunk, which takes place around the bookstore! RV parking with full hookups is available all year long; $25 for 30 amps and $30 for 50 amps! For more information about the Bluegrass event, call Ronald Medart at 254-865-6013. For RV information, call Connie Long at 254-223-0621. For more information about the Pearl Book Cottage and the Junk in Your Trunk event, call Linda Ray at 254-865-9282. If you haven’t been to Pearl, plan a trip and spend the day or more!! There’s no place like Pearl!

This week’s Bible Verse: “Finally, all of you, be likeminded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate, and humble.” NIV
