Both varsity girls and boys track teams of Oglesby High School recently competed in an area meet where they took home various medals and will now be advancing to the regional track meet.
The Oglesby Tigers won first place at the meet.
The regional qualifiers include:
Alex Castillo: 110-meter hurdles, 17.12, third place; 300-meter hurdles, 46.46, second place; triple jump, 35-8 3/4.
Kayson Campbell: 400-meter dash, 52.49, first place; 800-meter run, 2:13.83, third place.
Kyler Fossett: 100-meter dash, 11.23, first place; 200-meter dash, 23.21, second place; high jump, 6-0, second place; long jump, 20-1, third place.
Hunter Ewing: Shot put, 38-5 3/4, fourth place.
Johnny Gomez: Pole Vault, 9-6, third place.
David Mejia: 1600-meter run, 5:31.15, second place; 3200-meter run, 11:49.77, third place.
As a team, EJ Aviles, Landon Williamson, Aiden Oxford, and Kyler Fossett won fourth place in the 4x100 relay and received a time of 44.77 seconds.
As a team, EJ Aviles, Aiden Oxford, Alex Castillo, and Landon Williamson won first place in the 4x200 relay and received a time of 1:36.18. The team also competed in the 4x400 relay and won second place with a time of 3:44.09.
Maddison Smith: 1600-meter run, 7:01.73, fourth place.
Zarah Wisehart: Pole vault, 6-0, fourth place; 400-meter run, 1:11.15, sixth place.
Presley Robinson: 800-meter run, 2:54.84, third place.
As a team, Maddison Smith, Presley Robinson, Autumn Meyers, and Zarah Wisehart competed in the 4x200 relay and received a time of 2:09.62.
The Oglesby High School Tigers and Lady Tigers will compete in their regional track meet on Friday, April 19 and on Saturday, April 20 at Seguin High School.
