Mickie Cole, age 97, of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Lynn Parks officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery. For those unable to attend, Mrs. Cole’s services will be livestreamed on her obituary webpage at www.scottsfh.com.
Evah Leatrice (Mickie) Cole was born on March 22, 1925, in Brownfield. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lois Smith Hamilton. She grew up in the Mound community, graduating from Gatesville High School in 1942. She married Chester Cole on Nov. 24, 1944. They resided in Coryell County all their lives, with the exception of a period of time during which they lived in Great Falls, Montana where Chester was stationed in World War II. He preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 2002. She attended Eastwood Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Straw, and niece Valerie Straw.
Mickie is survived by her son, Kenneth Cole and wife, Lidian, of Arlington, Virginia, and niece, Vicki Trujillo of Bixby, Oklahoma.
