JHS track competes at area meet in Oakwood

The girls and boys track teams of Jonesboro High School recently competed in the 25A/26A area meet in Oakwood on Thursday, April 11.

Both teams came out on top at the end of the meet. The varsity girls won first place with a total of 118.5 points and the varsity boys won second place with a total of 118 points.

Lady Eagles Regional Qualifiers

Triple Jump: Cambell Gustin and Lynlee Deats

Pole Vault: Campbell Gustin

High Jump: Kodi Suggs

100-meter Hurdles: Campbell Gustin and Kylee Gould

300-meter Hurdles: Campbell Gustin

800-meter run: Madison Manning

400-meter run: Lynlee Deats and Madison Manning

4x100 Relay: Laini Ingram, Gracie Calhoun, Emily Turner, and Ally Thorman.

4x200 Relay: Lynlee Deats, Emily Turner, Ally Thorman, and Adalyna Andrade.

4x400 Relay: Madison Manning, Madalyn Smith, Lynlee Deats, and Adalyna Andrade.

Eagles Regional Qualifiers

Triple Jump: Layden Nichols

High Jump: Eric Thorman

Long Jump: DeMarcus Acoff

Shot Put: Payton Brister and Maddox Stroud

Discus: Seaborn Ashby

Pole Vault: Eric Thorman and Will Featherston

110-meter Hurdles: Eric Thorman

300-meter Hurdles: Kayden Craft

4x100 Relay: Luke Stephenson, Layden Nichols, Eric Thorman, and DeMarcus Acoff.

4x200 Relay: Luke Stephenson, Layden Nichols, Eric Thorman, and Sam Lawrence.

4x400 Relay: Truett Foote, Pate Foote, Layden Nichols, and Kayden Craft.

The prelims and finals for the regional meet will be held on Friday, April 19 and on Saturday, April 20, at Seguin High School.
