Gatesville High School's boys powerlifting team hosted the regional meet on March 10 in Gatesville, and two GHS athletes — Zach Bryant and L.J. Hall — qualified for the state meet on March 24 in Abilene.
"We finished seventh in the team standings out of 27 teams competing," said GHS coach Jason Moffett. "The guys did a great job and two of them – L.J. Hall and Zach Bryant — earned a trip to the state meet.
“The meet came off flawlessly, thanks to the help of a lot of GISD student athletes, employees and community members. We had 27 different schools represented at the meet today, and lots of visitors from other towns. I heard a lot of compliments from people about the way our workers did their job. It was a really good experience and all those who helped (make) our school and community proud.”
