Gatesville Salvation Army Bell Ringer Campaign 2023

Posted

The local Gatesville Salvation Army Unit is kicking off their Bell Ringer campaign. Use the QR code or URL address https://signup.com/go/GxatyWD to go online to sign-up.

“It’s easy. Even a grinch can register and ring the bell!”

You will receive an email reminder of your time to ring. You will be able to alter, or cancel your time, if your plans change.

Starting Nov. 24 and ending on Dec. 23, the Red Kettles will be stationed at both entrances of Wal Mart, 2805 S. State Highway 36, Gatesville, on Monday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

All donations made in Gatesville stay here, going to Coryell County residents (excluding Copperas Cove and prisons). Volunteer time equals donations, which go to meeting the needs of struggling families and individuals in Coryell County. No funds donated here go to the Texas Salvation Army, and we do not receive funding from that supervising body. In 2022, we fell short on filling volunteer bell ringing slots, and it has been reflected in limited funds to disburse.

Taking time to volunteer is very rewarding and, like the Grinch, you may find your heart grows three sizes as you ring the bell. It really is easy, as that is all you have to do: Register, Show Up, Ring the Bell, say, “Merry Christmas and Thank you,” and let the Red Kettle do the work of collecting funds for those in need.

Anyone, at any time, can donate to our local Salvation Army fund (which is separate from the Texas Salvation Army). Individual or corporate contributions that are made as individual or monthly donations can be addressed to: Gatesville Salvation Army, P. O. Box 213, Gatesville, TX 76528.

The Salvation Army addresses Financial Emergencies of Coryell County residents by providing assistance for Utilities and other needs. Applications and Interviews are given at the Senior Citizen Center on Lutterloh on Mondays (and Wednesdays) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
