After a rigorous audition back in September, Gatesville High School Choir placed a record of 11 students in the TMEA Region 8 SSC All-Region Choir. The students spent a Saturday at Marble Falls High School working under the direction of Dr. Joey Martin of Texas State University, where a concert was held consisting of four All State pieces.
The Gatesville High School choir students included Anna Phillips, Katie Hopson, Ranyan Garraway, Paisley Wells, Nahdiah Appleton, Nevin Benning, Memphis Wells, Rylan VanHorn, Eli Alvarez, Roman Wallace, and Devyn Ayala.
In addition, Gatesville High School and Junior High School choirs placed with 15 individuals, which included eighth and ninth grade students, into the Central Texas Honor Choir.
This was the inaugural performance of this newly-formed group, which Mrs. Wells and Dr. Klingler helped create, organize, and direct. There were 100 students from 12 different Central Texas schools.
The students from the junior high included Aspyn Austin, Amor Mejia, Sophia Salinas, Callie Smith, Lillie Mann, Anna Gutierrez, Joey Lonzetta, Eli Tyson, Caleb Hobday, and Jesse Garcia. The high school students included Charles McLeod, Jana Armour, Payton Steel, and Daniel Burton.
