Gatesville High School Art Department receives shoutout

Posted

The Gatesville High School Art Department students are tackling an art-in-photography unit that art teacher Claude Williams planned on turning into a project runway challenge. The unit is in full swing, while students learn with hands-on experience.

The class has learned how to use lighting, clothing, and props to set a mood and tone in photography, as well as sketching clothing designs that are then brought to life on mannequins.

The final stage of the project included students wearing the designed clothing for a class-based photoshoot.

“The products I am seeing in his class are things I have never seen done in a classroom before, and I applaud Claude for thinking outside the box and making it happen,” Gatesville High School Principal Liz Shoaf said.
