Gatesville High School annual Hall of Fame Banquet slated Sept. 30

The annual Gatesville High School Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Gatesville Civic Center, doors will open at 1 p.m.

Lunch will be provided by the Gatesville High School Culinary Department at 1:30 p.m.

The Class of 2023 inductees include:

-          Keith Clarke is a Gatesville High School boys’ track standout and state-meet champion, who later ran collegiately for the University of Houston.

-          Brian Edwards is a Gatesville High School boys’ basketball standout and later became an all-conference player at Hardin Simmons University. Edwards also served as the Gatesville High School boys basketball head coach from 2002 to 2010.

-          Johnny Jones is a Gatesville High School boys’ golf standout and state-tournament champion, who later played collegiately at the University of Houston, Temple Junior College, and North Texas State University.

-          Gatesville High School girls track 1965 state champions was a seven-member squad who captured the University Interscholastic League’s first-ever Texas Division A state title.

The Gatesville Civic Center is located at 301 Veteran’s Memorial Loop.
