When visiting the service station exhibit at the Coryell Museum and Historical Center, visitors will see a vintage Coca-Cola cooler on the front porch of the station facade. Back in the day, the Coca-Cola bottles were kept cold by packing them in ice in an insulated cooler chest.

Crime Stoppers Donut Dash considered a success

The annual Cen-Tex Crime Stoppers Donut Dash took place on Saturday, May 16, with the starting point being at the Gatesville City Pool. Runners had the option of running in a 5K or 10K race, both offering unique challenges for runners of all ages.

Pre-K and Kindergarten Round Up announced

The Gatesville Primary School recently announced the registration dates for kindergarten and pre-K registration for the 2026-2027 school year.Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on Sept. 1st. and pre-K students must be 4 years old on or before Sept.

The Gatesville Messenger, rebuilding the archives

The city of Gatesville was drastically changed after a massive fire broke out in the downtown area on March 16,. taking out nearly an entire city block and multiple historic businesses.Some may not be aware that The Gatesville Messenger had an extensive newspaper archive dating back to 1936.
