Council approves two ordinances and purchases vehicle for city department

The Gatesville City Council met on Tuesday, June 23, to authorize the purchase of a crane as well as adopted two ordinances after their third and final readings.

Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame to feature Barbara and Junior Myers

The Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame is having a free concert at the Gatesville City Auditorium Friday, July 17. The event will take place from 7-9 p.m. at 110 N. 8th Street in Gatesville. The evening will feature guest performers Barb and Junior Myers along with the Saddle the Wind Band.

Back in the saddle again…

Visitors to the Coryell Museum and Historical Center can “mosey” on back to the Blacksmith Shop exhibit and see the items once used in early-day Gatesville when the blacksmiths were responsible for shoeing horses.

Road and Bridge department announce road closure for repair

The Coryell County Road and Bridge Department has announced that there will be a road closure near the 2400 block of County Road 274 starting Monday, July 6, and lasting until August.

Lanelle Lemons visits with Sherry Hopson Mound Cowboy Church is having a summer revival guest speaker, Cody Cochran of Anson, July 19, at 9 a.m. at the Pavilion, 2000 County Road 321 and July 19-22, Sunday through Wednesday nightly at 7 p.m. inside the Cowboy Church at 3075 FM 931.

Howdy Friends and Neighbors, Pearl had an incredible July 4 celebration on Saturday at the Pearl Community Center. The local folks showed up in masse to celebrate the birthday of our great country.

Whatever happened to

1996 (Thirty years ago) A new hangar was under construction at the Gatesville Airport. It was designed to house on-site to provide maintenance, repairs, and airplane rentals.

Gatesville holds Pickleball tournament

The second day of the Gatesville USA 250 Celebration started with a pickleball tournament, which took place at the Gatesville Civic Center located at 301 Veterans Memorial Loop. The event took place from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, July 3.
