City Council passes two ordinances

The Gatesville City Council met on Tuesday, July 28, to discuss potentially passing two new ordinances. The first ordinance was regarding fire hydrants and on-site sewage facilities.

In the Dawson Cooper Exhibit Hall at the Coryell Museum and Historical Center, visitors will notice a small church exhibit containing pews, an organ, and other church related items. One of the items on display is a pulpit that was once located in the Purmela Methodist Church.

Lone Star Healthy Streams workshop set for Aug. 11 in Gatesville

Lone Star Healthy Streams will host a workshop on Aug. 11 in Gatesville focused on land stewardship, soil health, water quality and conservation strategies. The free event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Gatesville Civic Center, 301 Veterans Memorial Loop.

Whatever happened to

Jonesboro ISD received a new principal, Richard Hill. He admitted to being sentimental and a “people person,” but not a ‘push over.’ Gloria Keen was named “Employee of the Month” at the Gatesville Unit. She was a rehabilitation aide in a satellite program at the unit.

Howdy Friends and Neighbors! The big news in Pearl last week was the Pearl Bluegrass Jam and Stage Show on Saturday August 1. There were a large number of new folks and several that had not been since 2020.
