The cold did not stop the Gatesville High School tennis team from reeling in two gold medals, two silver, and a bronze on Friday in the Waco ISD tournament at the Waco Regional Tennis Center.
Stormy Tatum won first place in girls singles for GHS. In boys doubles, Alex Scott and Carlo Martinez also won first place.
Slone Early took second place for the Hornets in boys singles, while in girls doubles, the GHS team of Callie Smith and Kasey Fitzer also brought home a silver medal.
Gatesville’s Ty Warren and Julee Sun placed third in mixed doubles.
The Hornets will travel to Belton on Friday to compete in the Belton High School tournament. The tournament is set to begin at 8:30 a.m.
