I can hardly believe that it’s the end of July of 2023! Where does the time go? That’s not just a saying for me; it’s a reality!
The older I get, the faster time travels! Anyway, here are some important dates to remember as we approach fall: the next Pearl Bluegrass and Pearl Cottage Bookstore day will be August 5; the Pearl Church of Christ Atchley Fish Fry and Silent Auction for His Kids will be the 3rd of September with items set up to view by August 21; the next Pearl Cemetery workday will be October 14 with a reschedule date if necessary due to inclement weather of October 21; and the Pearl Church of Christ 128th Reunion will be October 15. Mark your calendars, and please know that everyone is cordially invited to attend any and all of these events!
Notes from The Pleasure and Profit Club dated August 31, 1933: “The Club met with Mrs. Bonnie Brown. We quilted one quilt and finished about one half of another, and almost finished piecing one more. Next came the business meeting. All members answered the roll call except four. Our new Constitution was ready to be discussed and criticized. Our next meeting is to be with Mrs. Mildred Manning, which would be September 14. Immediately after adjournment came the surprise of a stork shower for Mrs. Lettie Oney. Refreshments of cake and grape punch were served to all members and several visitors.
