The Oglesby Junior High Lady Tigers defeated the Mt. Calm Lady Panthers 12-9 in a district contest Jan. 18, in Mt. Calm.
The Lady Tigers played well defensively. The top scorer for the Lady Tigers was Scarlet Aaron with eight points, three steals, and one rebound. Cierra Ingram scored two points, three steals, and one rebound. Delaney Marfa scored two points, four rebounds and one assist. Makenzie Wright did a good job on offense and defense, grabbing four rebounds and four steals. Adelyn Gomez also played well.
The Lady Tigers hosted the Gholson Lady Wild Cats on Jan. 22, defeating them, 18-10. Turnovers plagued both teams, but the Lady Tigers rallied in the end for the victory.
Several Lady Tigers got in the scoring action tonight including Ayleen Aviles with four points. Delaney Marfa led the scoring with six points and one rebound. Scarlet Aaron scored two points, four rebounds, and three steals. Ali Chrisner scored two points, one rebound, and three steals. Makenzie Wright scored two points, four rebounds, and three steals. Adelyn Gomez scored two points, three rebounds, and one steal.
The Lady Tigers record stood at two to four for the season going into the Walnut Springs tournament that began Jan. 25.
