Members of the VFW Post 8577 presented a donation check to Sharon Meyers for the funding to assist Hidden Gem during the holiday season. The 2022 Gatesville Winter Wonderland Walkthrough and Toy Drive will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Pictures can be made with Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, the Grinch, Krampus and more. A new attraction this year will be a train ride that will cost $1 per rider. Winter Wonderland Walkthrough will take place at 1518 Golf Course Road.
In the walkthrough, there will be numerous decorated Christmas trees, inflatables, and many Christmas decorations. The 2021 event also had live actors, including Santa Claus and The Grinch. Approximately 1,500 visitors came to last year’s event, and the number of toys collected ensured that more than 70 children in the Coryell County area had presents to open on Christmas morning.
The admission price for the Winter Wonderland is a new unwrapped toy. Monetary donations will also be accepted. All toys and proceeds will be donated to families of Coryell County through the Hidden Gem Family Center.
The Winter Wonderland Walkthrough and the Halloween Candy Maze were ideas first conceived by Sharon Meyers and her husband, John, to benefit children in the community.
