Congressman Roger Williams
(R-TX-25) announced
a $27,873 grant awarded to
the Housing Authority of
Gatesville by the United
States Department of Housing
and Urban Development
(HUD). The funding, made
available by the Coronavirus
Aid, Relief, and Economic
Security (CARES) Act, will
be awarded to Public Housing
Authorities (PHA’s) nationwide
through the Public
Housing Operating Fund
and can be used to prepare,
prevent or respond to a coronavirus
outbreak.

and this funding will ensure
Americans living in public
housing stay safe now and in
the future,” said Congressman
Williams. “While Texas
Housing Authorities have already
received much-needed
aid under the CARES Act,
I’m proud to secure even
greater funding that will give
them the ability to protect
residents to meet the needs
of their communities.”
The Coronavirus Aid,
Relief, and Economic Security
Act, supported by Williams
and signed into law by
President Trump, allocated
$1.25 billion for Tenant-
Based Rental Assistance.
