Solar Eclipse and Pearl Bluegrass weekend coming up

Posted

The next big event in Pearl is the upcoming Solar Eclipse and Pearl Bluegrass weekend, April 5, 6, and 7. To sign up for RV space, go to www.eventbrite.com/o/pearl-texas-community-center. You can see how much they cost and what is available there. Also on that Saturday, the Pearl Bookstore will be open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. It will be a huge weekend in Pearl, so make your plans now.

The Pearl Baptist Church will host an Easter morning service at the Pearl Cemetery Pavilion on March 31st beginning at 7 a.m. Breakfast will be served at the church’s fellowship hall following the service.

The Pearl Community Fellowship will have an Easter service beginning at 9 a.m.

The Pearl Church of Christ will have an Easter service beginning at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch and an Easter egg hunt for the kids.

Upcoming speakers at the Pearl Church of Christ: Edward Schaub will be speaking on Easter morning at 10:30 a.m.; Dr. Charles Patterson, retired Superintendent of the Killeen ISD and currently ministering and living in Corsicana, will be speaking on April 7, also at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Patterson is a native of Hamilton.

Everyone is always invited to any of these Pearl churches and services. Bringing guests is happily encouraged, too.

Linda Ray reported that the Pearl mascot, Oliver, the very large but very sweet dog, did not make it to church on time last Sunday. She thinks that he forgot about the time change and overslept. She is hoping that Oliver has since adjusted to this change in daylight hours (we all know that there’s the same amount but just framed differently) and will attend as usual this Sunday. I’m sure Oliver’s human counterparts are having the very same problem. Change is sometimes very hard. We hope you all will attend the church of your choice no matter what time it starts. The unspoken motto at Pearl Church of Christ is “better late than never.” And that’s the truth.

This week’s Bible verse comes from Luke 23:34—Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do….” KJV
