Silver Santas is collecting gifts this holiday season for local seniors who are in need. The organization is partnering with Meals on Wheels to help give each meal recipient a gift for the holidays.
Meals on Wheels is a federally funded program that provides seniors in the community with support that allows them to remain living in their own homes.
There are various items to be donated, including, socks, lotion, toiletries, soft blankets, back scratchers, large print puzzle books, large print playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, small notepads, lip balm, hats, gloves, scarves, packaged snacks, small flashlights, a magnifying glass, colored pencils and coloring books, and coffee or tea mugs.
Monetary donations will be accepted as well through Venmo at Christi-Mooney.
Donations are to be collected by Saturday, Dec. 9. Items should be dropped off at the 1854 Mercantile, the Salty Senorita, or the Feed Mill.
