Oglesby ISD Elementary students UIL results released

Oglesby Elementary students in the grades second through fifth competed in district Academic UIL events in late November of 2023, and the results have been submitted to the campus.

As a district, Oglesby ISD placed third overall and had several individual and team awards.

The results include:

Second Grade

  • Story Telling: Jaylyn Taylor won second place, and Brennen Hill won fifth place.
  • Creative Writing: Crystal Mejia won fifth place, and Jaylyn Taylor won second place.

Third Grade

  • Music Memory: Caymbri Fisher won second place. As a team, Caymbri Fisher, McKynzlynn Brand, and Kinzlee Gray received third place.
  • Ready Writing: Kinzlee Gray won fourth place, and Ariel Crell won third place.
  • Spelling: Braxton Henry won third place.
  • Story Telling: Ariel Crell won fifth place.

Fourth Grade

Chess: Judd Wulfkuhle won second place, and Hudson Seymour won fourth place. As a team, Judd Wulfkuhle, Hudson Seymour, and Bentley Goff received first place.

Oral Reading: Hudson Seymour won fourth place.

Spelling: Bentley Goff won second place.

Fifth Grade

Art: Brook Hamilton won fifth place, and Gracie Thompson won third place. As a team, Brook Hamilton, Arell Augeri, Gracie Thompson, and Peyton Schu received second place.

Chess: Slayton Fisher won first place.

Listening: Peyton Schu won second place. As a team, Gracie Thompson, Peyton Schu, and Kristy Anderson won second place.

Maps, Charts, and Graphs: Joe Hamilton won third place.

Music Memory: Slayton Fisher won second place as well as Judson Marquez and McKayla Regan tied for third place. As a team, Slayton Fisher, Judson Marquez, and McKayla Regan won first place.

Number Sense: Jayden Hopkins won fourth place.

Oral Reading: Peyton Schu won fifth place and Arell Augeri won sixth place.

Ready Writing: AJ Martin won fifth place.

Social Studies: Joe Hamilton won first place, McKayla Regan won sixth place, and Judson Marquez won third place. As a team, Joe Hamilton, McKayla Regan, and Judson Marquez won second place.

Spelling: Brook Hamilton won second place. As a team, Brook Hamilton Gracie Thompson, and Rainie Owens won second place.
