Jonesboro ISD: Where every student has a place.

Posted

Jonesboro Superintendent Matt Dossey understands that not every student matches well with each and every school. “Every school has its strengths and weaknesses. Some kids do better in a small school and others do better in a large school environment. I think it is important to find the right fit for your student; the place where they will thrive.”

Thriving is exactly what Jonesboro ISD is doing. With a student population of just slightly more than 300, Jonesboro had a 100% graduation rate this past year.

“Jonesboro itself is unique from the standpoint we are more than a school; we are a family. Every student has a name, and every kid has a place. That in and of itself is unique.” said Dossey.

This year Jonesboro will be participating in UIL Volleyball for the very first time. There is excitement in the air as new Coach Amanda LeCroy and her assistant coach/husband, Cody LeCroy hope to set a standard of excellence for future generations of Jonesboro students.

Besides the coaching duo of Amanda and Cody LeCroy, JISD has added Cassandra Berg to their staff, and welcomes back Amanda Martin who joined the Jonesboro teaching staff in mid-year of 22-23.

Teachers and staff will be conducting in-service days from Aug. 14 to Aug. 18 with the first day of school at Jonesboro ISD is Aug. 21.
