Gary J. Zalewski, age 86, of Gatesville, formerly of Michigan passed away at his home on Saturday, August 6, 2022, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side.
Gary was born August 1, 1936, in Haslett, Michigan, just outside of Lansing, to Theodore Joseph and Edna Marie (Hogle) Zalewski, one of 14 children. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was in the 82nd Airborne Division.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandra Sue Zalewski; sons Gary and Murray; and daughters, Dena and Gina.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Lynda, Connie, Peggy, and Diane; sons, Arthur, Carl, George, Ronald, Donald, and Pete; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be held for both Gary and Sandra on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
