Eunice Smith Snoddy, age 93, of Gatesville, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in Austin.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bruce Cox officiating.  Burial followed at Restland Cemetery.  For those unable to attend, Mrs. Snoddy’s funeral services will be livestreamed at the link below her obituary page at www.scottsfh.com.

Eunice Smith Snoddy was born on November 13, 1929, in Hye, Texas in Blanco County.  She was born to the late Clegg Smith and Florence Shipp Bradshaw.  She was the descendent of a long-time pioneer family that dated back to the Independence of Texas.  She married Robert Newell Smith in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1973.  She married W.D. (Pat) Snoddy in 1974.  They lived in Gatesville where they raised their children, David, Michael, and Stacy. In those years, Pat and Eunice never missed a school event, music lesson, or other planned event for their sons. They were members of First Baptist Church of Gatesville, where they were choir members for many years.  Pat preceded her in death in 2013.

She was also preceded in death by a son, David Keith Smith in 1970 and a sister, Lonie Ethridge in 2016.

Eunice is survived by a daughter, Patricia Smith of Austin; son, Stacy Smith of Austin; brother, T.J. Smith and wife, Maggie, of Johnson City; grandson, Brian Burkle of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews that were very close to her.
