Daniel Castillo, age 83, of Dallas, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, at his son’s home in Rockdale. 

A funeral Mass was held at 9 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockdale with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rockdale.

Mr. Castilo was born Dec. 11, 1938, in Cerritos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to José Castillo and Carmen Banda. On June 22, 1958, he and Juliana Castillo were married in Mexico. Daniel was a farmer and rancher. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, José Castillo and Carmen Banda; a brother, Rodrigo Castillo; and two sisters, Lucina Castillo and Margarita Castillo. 

Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Juliana Castillo of Dallas; six sons, Manuel Castillo and wife, Julia, of Virginia, Gerardo Castillo of Gatesville, Rosalio Castillo and wife, Juana, of Gonzalez, José Castillo and wife, Leticia, of Dallas, Felipe Castillo and wife, Alma, of Dallas, and Francisco Castillo and wife, Lorena, of Rockdale; three daughters, Rosa Escalante and husband, Juan, of Rockdale, Juana Castillo and Marta Castillo, both of Mexico; 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. 

His sons served as pallbearers, Gerardo, Manuel, Rosalio, José, Felipe, Francisco Castillo.
