BosqueBill performs at Senior Center

Musician Gene Hamilton, better known as “BosqueBill,” recently performed at the Gatesville Senior Center and entertained those present at the facility.

At an early age, BosqueBill was inspired by his parents to pursue music and encouraged to share his God-given talents with others. “My stage name, BosqueBill, was derived from the fact that my mom grew up in Bosque County, and my dad’s nickname was Bill,” Hamilton said.

“I write and perform original music and cover songs of various styles, including traditional country, folk/Bluegrass, and gospel,” he said. Hamilton stated that he was seven years old when his father first stuck an old Harmony guitar in his hands and began teaching him chords so that the young lad could accompany his father on fiddle tunes. “That started my love affair with the guitar, and trust me, I have owned more than a few in the 58 years since that day I first wrapped my little fingers around the neck of that guitar,” Hamilton said.

BosqueBill has performed in public for many years – getting started as a teen singing in church. “I still sing at churches as I get the chance, as well as stage shows, and restaurants.”

“I look forward to providing entertainment,” he said.
