73rd annual National Day of Prayer to be held May 2

Posted

The First Methodist Church of Gatesville is extending a warm invitation to you and your congregation to join hands in supporting the National Day of Prayer, an event that promises to be a powerful gathering of believers across the nation.

The church will host the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in its sanctuary and chapel.

The church is honored to sponsor this annual event, and we extend an open invitation to all churches in the community to participate.

On this sacred day, our doors will be wide open, and we encourage everyone to join us in person if possible. However, we understand that physical attendance may not be feasible for all, and we warmly welcome those who wish to join us in spirit.

This year, the National Day of Prayer carries the theme “Lift Up the World – Light Up the World.” This theme is beautifully exemplified in the 2024 National Prayer, skillfully crafted by Kathy Branzell. The power of collective prayer can truly illuminate the world with hope, love, and unity.

In preparation for this significant event, we invite you to join us in forty days of prayer starting on Saturday, March 23, as we dedicate this time to seek the Lord’s guidance, wisdom, and blessings.

We believe our collective prayers will have a profound impact not only on our community but also on the nation as a whole.

Let us come together as one body, lifting our voices in prayer and supplication for our nation, our communities, and the world.

As the body of Christ, we have the privilege and responsibility to be the light that dispels darkness. May our prayers resonate with the love and compassion of our Savior, touching hearts and transforming lives.
