Helen Taylor Theaker of Gatesville, Texas, passed away on July 7, 2022.

Helen was born in Dallas on February 9, 1952, and graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, class of 1973. For almost 40 years, Helen worked at the Vinson & Elkins Law Firm in Houston, supporting the managing partner for the last ten years. In 2013 Helen and her husband Tom retired to Gatesville and are oh so glad they did. Helen loved Gatesville, its people, living in the country and was filled with joy every day. Helen was a woman of faith and a member of First United Methodist Church Gatesville.

Helen is survived by her husband, Thomas H. Theaker; her aunt, Liberta Taylor, her cousin Tim Taylor, Tim’s son Jason and Jason’s family, her brother-in-law and his wife Ken and Linda Theaker; her niece, Kelly and her husband, Nathan McCarter, and their two children; and her niece, Kasey, and her husband, Kyle Fitzpatrick, and their two children. Helen may have had a tiny biological family, but she was so very blessed with a large, loving, supportive, funny, and precious family of friends.

Helen died from complications due to ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Helen and Tom suggest any memorial donations be made to :
