1996 (Thirty years ago) The American Legion Post 42 history book took top honors at the American Legion annual convention and was to advance to national competition. Special services were planned for the 55th anniversary of the West Main Church of Christ.

Mound Cowboy Church is having a summer revival. The guest speaker will be Mr. Cody Cochran of Anson on Sunday morning, July 19, at 9 a.m. at the pavilion. The revival will be held July 19-22, Sunday through Wednesday, at 7 p.m. inside the Cowboy Church.

Coryell Museum seeks volunteers

The purpose of the Coryell Museum is to collect, preserve, and exhibit the cultural history of Coryell County and Central Texas. The museum is always looking for new volunteers.

Ethan Sandell Memorial Tennis Tournament sees 22 players

The Ethan Sandell Memorial Tennis Tournament was held at the Gatesville ISD Tennis Court on Saturday, July 11, with a total of 22 registered to compete – 11 players were local and the other players were outof- town. Gatesville High School players numbered 13.
