County commissioners discuss vehicles and inmates

The Coryell County Commissioners Court met on Tuesday, July 14, to discuss vehicles for the county and an interlocal agreement with Falls County. The first vehicle discussed was the possible replacement or repairment of a vehicle being used by Precinct 3 Constable Daniels.

Gatesville PD swears in new officers

Two new police officers were sworn in on July 3 by Police Chief Jeffrey Clark in the City Council Chambers – William Massey and Whitney Myers. William Massey, a native of Moody, is a recent graduate of the Central Texas College Police Academy.

Commissioners discuss roads, bridges and K9s

The Coryell County Commissioners’ Court met on Tuesday, June 23, to discuss potential road and bridge repairs as well as various K9s for the sheriff’s department. The first discussion, which spanned over three agenda items, involved both off-system bridges and roads.

Council approves two ordinances and purchases vehicle for city department

The Gatesville City Council met on Tuesday, June 23, to authorize the purchase of a crane as well as adopted two ordinances after their third and final readings.

Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame to feature Barbara and Junior Myers

The Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame is having a free concert at the Gatesville City Auditorium Friday, July 17. The event will take place from 7-9 p.m. at 110 N. 8th Street in Gatesville. The evening will feature guest performers Barb and Junior Myers along with the Saddle the Wind Band.

Visitors to the Coryell Museum and Historical Center can “mosey” on back to the Blacksmith Shop exhibit and see the items once used in early-day Gatesville when the blacksmiths were responsible for shoeing horses.
