Seniors keep it movin’ at the Gatesville Fitness Center

It has been written that senior citizens benefit greatly from gym memberships in order to maintain mobility, strength, bone density, reduce fall risks, and boost brain health. Many older adults use the city-operated Gatesville Fitness Center.

Back to School Bash set for Aug. 8

The Gatesville Independent School District will host its annual Back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Gatesville Elementary School.Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Students can register for a free backpack.

Leo Corona announces candidacy for Mayor

A Gatesville resident, Leo Corona, has announced he is running for the office of Mayor. “I have authorized The Gatesville Messenger to announce my candidacy for Mayor of the City of Gatesville in the upcoming municipal election, scheduled from October 19 through November 3, 2026.
