VanJam to perform at Country Music Hall of Fame

The Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame is holding a free concert at the Gatesville City Auditorium on Friday, Aug. 21. The event will take place from 7-9 p.m. at 110 N. 8th Street in Gatesville. This special evening will feature the VanJam Band.

Back to School Bash deemed successful

The Back to School Bash was held on Aug. 8 at the Gatesville Elementary School with over 200 families being served.Distribution included 302 pairs of shoes and 350 backpacks. There were 10 hairdressers donating their time who gave approximately 50 free haircuts to students.

In the Dawson Cooper Exhibit Hall at the Coryell Museum and Historical Center, visitors will notice a small church exhibit containing pews, an organ, and other church related items. One of the items on display is a pulpit that was once located in the Purmela Methodist Church.
