GHS tennis brings home medals

The Gatesville High School tennis team corralled seven medals in the Belton ISD tennis tournament on Friday, March 4.

In girls singles, Stormy Tatum took second place, while Anna Mitchell won 2 of 4 matches.

In boys singles, Slone Early went home sick but won one of his three matches, while Tyler Hutts also won one of his three contests.

In mixed doubles, Ty Warren and Julee Son teamed for a second-place finish. Dayne Zacha and Bri Alexander were the consolation winners in mixed doubles.

Callie Smith and Preslea Edmond were the consolation winners in girls doubles. Valeria Jimenez and Katelyn Sanchez won one of three matches they played in girls doubles. Alex Scott and Carlo Martinez took fifth place in boys doubles, winning three out of their four matches. Jesse Strange and Milton Walters were defeated in all three of their matches.

GHS played at Harker Heights High School on March 7. Results will be in a future edition.
