Evant closes season with big win

The Evant Elks closed their football season in style with a 71-21 victory over the Zephyr Bulldogs Friday at Zephyr.

Hunter White provided the big-play threat and finished with five touchdowns and 289 yards of offense.

Evant snapped a four-game losing streak to finish 5-5 overall and 1-2 in District 15-A, Div. I play.

Zephyr finished its season 0-10 overall and 0-3 in district.

White had 239 rushing yards including four long touchdown runs.

He also added 50 receiving yards and one touchdown catch.

Luis Arellano had four TD passes and threw for 140 yards.

Arellano added 32 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.

Edgar Morales had one rushing touchdown, 44 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.

Cason Ingram had 34 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.

Canyon Smith added 12 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.

On defense, Arellano recorded 12 tackles and one fumble recovery.

Ingram added six tackles and one fumble recovery.

White had 11 tackles and Morales six tackles.
