May 2: Gatesville ISD will offer free physicals on Tuesday, May 2, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Coryell Health Medical Clinic. Updated physicals are required for next year's incoming seventh, ninth and 11th grade student-athletes.
Boys Track: Jastin Muegge was added to the regional meet roster. He will replace Carlo Martinez in the 800 meters.
Track: GHS will have seven athletes competing at the 4A Region III track meet Friday and Saturday at Bullard High School. The top 2 finishers in each event will advance to the state meet. The Hornet contingent will include Barrett Boyd (pole vault, 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles) in the girls division, and Carlo Martinez (3200, 800, 1600 meters), Rayshon Smith (long jump), Ashtyn Culley (high jump), Brayden Minton (discus), Lawson Mooney (200 meters) and Jastin Muegge (800) in the boys division.
May 8: GHS Athletics' Year-end Shout-out (6-8 p.m., GHS Sidney L. Pruitt Gym). All high school sports teams will be recognized.
May 10: GISD will partner with the Cody Stephens Foundation to offer free student-athlete heart screenings Wednesday, May 10. These services will be conducted in athletic class periods throughout the day.
