Gatesville Fighting Hornet marching band shines

 Gatesville High School’s Fighting Hornet marching band won best in Class 4A, and best color guard at the Lake Whitney Marching Festival.  The Hornet Band placed second out of 29 bands.

The Hornet Band will be competing at the UIL Region 8 Marching Contest Saturday, Oct. 16 at Midway Panther Stadium. The competition begins at noon.

The GHS Colorguard, members include: Aeriale Appleton, Kaitlyn Gamble, Cheyenne Garcia, Serenity Hajdik, Lillie Modgling, Breanna Okruch-Montgomery, Jorja Penny, Kaitlyn (Ophelia) Sanchez and Emery Wood. The sponsor is Jeannie Schlicke-Collins.
