Gatesville Athletics Hall of Fame choices announced

The newest inductees to the Gatesville High School Athletics' Hall of Fame were selected on Feb. 16  by the HOF selection committee:

The Class of 2023 inductees are:

* Johnny Jones, boys golf, 1961 state champion individual medalist.

* Keith Clarke, boys track, three-time state-meet qualifier and 1987 state champion in the 200 meters.

* Brian Edwards, boys basketball athlete and boys basketball coach.

* 1965 girls track state champions (first year awarded by the UIL).

The Hall of Fame Banquet will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Gatesville Civic Center.
