On April 11-13, three members of CRSP (Coryell Retired School Personnel) attended the 68th State Retired Teachers convention in Dallas.
Local delegates were Yvonne Dutschmann, Immediate Past President; JoAnn Sugg, Outgoing President; and Gail Johnson, Incoming President.
On the agenda were caucus meetings by district, breakout sessions, legislative sessions, House of Delegates and an informational fair. Attendees had many opportunities to share and exchange ideas with retired teachers across the state. They were also able to discuss and gather information regarding various legislation concerning retired teachers, focusing on an agenda for the upcoming legislative year.
For the first time, a silent auction was held to support TRTA’s Foundation program, which provides funds for various charitable programs and educational support for past, present and future teachers through grants and scholarships. The local chapter donated a quilt made by Anne Byrom to the silent auction.
