LeRoy Luedeker October 13, 1943 – March 25, 2023

LeRoy Luedeker, age 79, of Crawford, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Lindsay Luedeker officiating.  Interment followed at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Coryell City. 

LeRoy was born on October 13, 1943, in Crawford to the late Ernest and Laura Warmke Luedeker. His mother passed away when he was a small child and was raised by his stepmother, Mary Luedeker. He attended school in Crawford, graduating from Crawford High School in 1963. He entered the United States Army in 1965 and served two years in Germany. He married Donna Sandhoff in May of 1975.  They resided all their married lives in Crawford. He worked for Perma-Dwell Mobile Home manufacturing as a purchasing agent for over 20 years. He then worked for many years at LL Sams in Waco, before going to work at Franklin Industries until his retirement. LeRoy was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed wood working and could make almost anything. He also enjoyed playing golf, western shows, oldies music and classic cars. He loved family get-togethers, telling old stories from growing up with his brothers and sister and cousins. In his retirement years, he enjoyed his cats and taking care of them, which had their own bowl, and each came only when called by name or heard his voice. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother; an infant sister, Emily; and a brother, Bupsy Luedeker.

LeRoy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Luedeker; son, Christopher Luedeker; granddaughter, Kara Luedeker; brother, Earl (Bobby) Luedeker and wife, Margaret; sister, Christine Reich; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
